*Note: God gave man every fruit and herb bearing seed for meat, which means food. Herb bearing seeds are referring to edible seeds, nuts and legumes (beans). The animals did NOT eat one another under a carnivorous food chain as we have, today. Instead, they all ate green herbs. Later, after man sinned, God commanded man to eat the "herb of the field," like the animals, to give them more nourishment and prevent sickness and disease. (See Genesis 3:18)
